American Barbell is the first company to manufacture a urethane bumper plate. These bumpers are exceptionally durable and have a very low bounce. They use German urethane to ensure the highest quality and bright, vibrant color. Custom markings & logos are color molded into the color bumper plates, which creates an excellent look and promotes a long lasting performance.
The 140MM hard chrome hub is a solid one-piece construction and has a chamfer for easy bar loading and reduced bar sleeve wear.

American Barbell warrants that American Barbell products known as URETHANE Olympic weightlifting bumper plates shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of delivery to purchaser. For purposes of this limited warranty, the 3 year warranty coverage could, and will end at any time prior to 3 years if the applicable product becomes unusable for reasons other than defects in workmanship or material.

It's all about the details
I chose these plates because they are thin, so save space on the bar, and looked great online. Upon arrival, they also appeared impressively colorful. Unlike rubber-coated plates, these urethane plates are firm to the touch. While I was unpacking these, my box cutter caught one of the yellow plates---the box cutter recoiled off the plate and the plate itself remained unscratched. These plates are tough!

The American Barbell Urethane Plates have been on my wish list for a long time and I finally made the switch as soon as these came back in stock . They are very well made, the colours are very vibrant along with the great contrast of grey branding, and the finish provides a nice texture to grip them when loading. These plates fit perfect in my York bumper storage trays on either side of my XTC Gear X-Series Squat Rack. I would like to see American Barbell make colour change plates for this set like they do for the Kg options, but for now I’ve invested in the York Urethane ISO-Grips which do the job well.
